Igala Leaders Urge Investment in Homeland

The Forum of Igala Chiefs in Kogi State has challenged Igala people nationwide to invest in education, agriculture and mineral resources to enable the entire Igala race take its rightful place in the country.

The challenge was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the Igala Day celebration held in Lokoja, Wednesday.

The communiqué, signed by the chairman of the forum, Chief Salihu Oguche (Onu Igala Lokoja) and the secretary, Chief Francis Omede (Onu Igala Lokongoma)  said in view of the economic challenges facing the country and the very low development in Igala land, Igala leaders should identify genuine ways of addressing issues impeding development in the area.

It emphasised need for the unity of Igala people, urging Governor Idris Wada and the Attah of Igala, Idakwo Ameh Oboni II, to institute actions that would bring the entire Igala leaders together for the development of the Igala kingdom.

The communiqué urged political leaders from Igala land to always fulfil their campaign promises, saying reneging on such promises after winning elections may affect their integrity.

    petition is not the next thing in kogi salary and bailout is the next thing because kogi worker’s are dying of hunger.
