According to Albert Einstein-“it is the theory that decides what can be observed”. Going by this premise, I against my personal will and convictions choose to be reserved on Kogi politics basically as a result of my antecedents of obvious support and unconditioned commitment to Capt Wada’s re-election. That way, my observations won’t be misunderstood as an emanate of my solidarity to Wada. Yet, things seem not getting any better in my beloved Kogi state.
For over a decade study of politics, I realised that no one will ever speak or react to political issues without been linked to a party. Whereas some of us are non partisan, the fear of been misunderstood either subject us to political oppression or a victim of Plato quotes which says~”one of the penalties of refusing to participate in politics is that you end up been ruled by your inferiors”. Perhaps the need for an outburst.
To set the records straight, it will only depict the swindle of a man who claims to like cowbell because of allergy to milk for any progressive minded kogite to be must in the face of the present happenings. The state has never witnessed hardship and instability as it has witnessed over the past two months. The state assembly is total disarray, kidnapping is on the increase, commodity prices are going up, workers salary and wages are delayed, mass civil servants’ sack etc. Instead of to stay mute at times like now, I only wished I never supported Wada so as to give a full dose of my feelings or should I for fear of misunderstanding go low? No!
While it is very interesting to say governor Bello’s ill policies and poor performance so far is a supplementary value to the political fortunes of Capt Wada, my conscience won’t let me rejoice while the innocent people of Kogi state who now regretably wish for a quicker reinstatement of Wada wallow in untold hardships. Well, the circumstantial emergence of Yahaya Bello has served a good litmus test for an alternative feel of Wada and the result is not for me to state.
Finally, as my eagerness for justice and final verdict on the lacuna caused by the ill fated November 21 and December 5th election boils with time passage, I call on the good people of Kogi state to remain calm, law abiding and wait for God to right all the wrongs in the state. As for the political class, irrespective of party leaning, I admonish you all to prioritize the interest of the state and nation at all time for posterity will only remember people by the legacies they leave behind.
God bless Kogi State,
God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.
–  Comrade A. M. Nasir writes from Minna, Niger State.
