From optimism to despair, from celebration of liberation to lamentation of hopelessness. That is the Kogi story.

The people stood by His Excellency, prayed for him and celebrated with him, has he done the same for them?

Some of us still remain steadfast, hopeful and optimistic but how can you convince a hungry man to still remain optimistic. The Governor obviously have noble ideas, he wants Kogites to be liberated from the shackle of those whose light fingers and pens have had their Bank accounts, homes and stomach filled with goodies at the expense of others who have to make do with peanuts or irregular payments. If only we have taken the path if achieving that noble ideas with minimal effect on the poor workers.

Of what use is a clean payroll devoid of ghost names to a dead worker? Absolutely Nothing.

There are empty food cabinets everywhere, hospital bills to pay, schools fees and rent fees to pay etc ‘everywhere you go’ (like MTN will say).

As much as we have to complain, we must also remain steadfast in wishing and praying for a more rewarding outcome. The light at the end of the tunnel.

For now the optimism of an average Kogite has worn thin and nothing more than getting the rewards of his/her work will bring back that smile. The benefit of doubt is what has kept some people clinging to the rope that the New Direction government extends. How long? Time shall tell.

The Governor has so many distractions and challenges (some self-inflicted) but they are surmountable. And it will be foolish to wish the pilot of a plane you are a passenger anything other than wisdom, strength and wherewithal to land safely.

Kogi will be great.
