A social media activist and the Director General of Communication and Strategy for Otunba Shuaib Ipinmisho Campaign Council, Samuel Temibi has warned the Ijumu chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against rigging the March 9 House of Assembly election.
In a terse statement, Temibi stated that the alleged plans by APC Ijumu to rig the forthcoming election has reach the maximum point and should be condemned.
He warned that the consequences of rigging the election will be of immense magnitude if warnings are not heeded to by the party’s bigwigs.
“For the past years, we have embarked on a peaceful electioneering campaign across the nooks and crannies of Ijumu, canvassing and convincing voters on the needs to vote for ADC, we let them know the stuff we are made of, our campaign selling point is good governance. We made promise of what we will do if elected and to the glory of God, our people have seen the light in us and they have resolved to cast their votes for the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the person of Otunba Shuaib Ipinmisho.
“Unfortunately, the information at our disposal indicates that the administrator of Ijumu Local government in cahoot with some APC bigwigs across Ijumu have concluded plans to truncate the people’s wish this coming Saturday by rigging the election yet to be conducted.
“Recently, we were reliably informed that the administrator of Ijumu local government, Alhaji Taufiq Isah held some uncollected voters card which is not less that 15,000 pieces to be distributed across the villages in Ijumu, these voters card is said to be given to some groups of monetary induced persons who have no voters card to vote for the ruling party in the local government. Today, the information spreading across Ijumu is excruciatingly lugubrious where almost 40,000 ballots paper is alleged to have been thump printed by APC leaders across Ijumu local government masterminded by the administrator.
“Let it be known to the general public that Ijumu residents will not tolerate the gross misconduct electoral fraud as practiced by the ruling party as we will adopt any conventional means aside violence to resist this planned electoral malpractice,” Temibi said.
Temibi urged the candidate of the All Progressive Congress in the forthcoming election to go out and campaign to the voters, advising him not to rely on rigging method as the plans has already failed.
