Haruna Backs Kogi Assembly to Enact People-Oriented Laws

Former Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Assembly and Legislative Matters,  Barrister Yusuf Okpanachi Haruna, has expressed confidence that the 7th assembly will make laws that beneficial to the growth of the state.

He stated while interacting with assembly press corps in Lokoja.

Haruna said the Assembly has shown commitment to legislative business owing to the quality of laws and motions being passed.

He also called for continued synergy between the legislature and executive arms of government, noting that the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is desirous of improving the wellbeing of the citizenry through the enactment of good and people oriented laws.

He thanked the assembly press corps for standing by him when he was in office.

The former lawmaker explained that media men’s professional conduct in reporting activities of the House helped in stabilising the assembly especially during the period of crisis.

He also used the opportunity to express gratitude to Governor Yahaya Bello and his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja for the opportunity given him to serve the state.
