A member of the Kogi State House of Assembly has praised the state’s Accountant-General, Hajia Habibat Tijjani Onumoko, for her engagement with young people, saying her leadership has renewed hope among youths in his constituency.

Hon. Zakari Yusuf, who represents Okene II Constituency, expressed his appreciation in a statement. He credited Onumoko with inclusive leadership, strong coordination skills and a commitment to the development of the people, particularly the younger generation.

“Your willingness to engage, encourage, and recognize the potentials of the youths is a remarkable demonstration of your compassion, foresight, and belief in the capacity of young people to contribute meaningfully to society,” Yusuf said.

He said her commitment to empowering young people had “rekindled hope” and given them a renewed sense of purpose.

The lawmaker said her approach went beyond the duties of her office. He argued that sustainable development depends on giving people opportunities and supporting their aspirations. He described her as a leader with “an enduring vision for progress” who is able to bring people together and coordinate efforts toward clear goals.

Speaking on behalf of the people of Okene II, particularly its youth, Yusuf thanked the Accountant-General for her encouragement and said the constituency was hopeful her assurances would lead to concrete opportunities for young people to discover their strengths, build their capacities and achieve their goals.

He also prayed for her good health, wisdom and continued success in her career and personal life.

“True leadership is measured not only by the responsibilities one carries but also by the lives one touches and the opportunities one creates for others,” Yusuf said.
