Against the backdrop of the unfolding political scenario in Kogi and four other states, the former governor and Action Congress of Nigeria ( ACN) candidate for the December gubernatorial elections in the state, Prince Abubakar Audu said, the Supreme court judgment has exposed the illegalities of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Audu in a telephone interview with LEADERSHIP SUNDAY noted that the judgment portrays PDP as a party that thrives on illegalities.
He said the supreme court’s pronouncement meant that the PDP never had a candidate in the December governorship election held in the state and since he was the second runner up, he should be declared the winner and be sworn in as the substantive governor of Kogi State.
Kogi State now has two governors as a result of the supreme court judgment.
While the state chief judge, Justice Nasiru Ajana, swore in the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulahi Bello, a Customary Court of Appeal Judge, Justice Shaibu Ibrahim swore in Idris Wada, the PDP candidate and winner of the December governorship election in the state yesterday.
