Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi state has condoled with Vice President Kashim Shettima over the death of his stepmother, Hajiya Hauwa Abba Kormi.
Hajia Abba Kormi died on Thursday.
In a statement he personally signed, Governor Ododo said the news of Hajia Kormi’s demise was received with sadness.
“On behalf of myself and the good people of Kogi State, I wish to express my heartfelt condolence on the death of your stepmother, Hajia Hauwa Abba Kormi who passed on to glory in the early hours of today.
“We received the news with sadness and pains. However, as they say, ‘the one who is adored the most by God, is the one who achieves eternal life’.
“We will miss her.
“For the family she left behind, be strong and may the Lord give you the strength to sail through these tough moments of life,” he said.
Governor Ododo prayed for the soul of the departed to rest in peace, and Allah (SWT) grant Vice President Shettima and the entire family the fortitude to bear the loss.
