As the political seasons are here, people like Natasha Akpoti is organizing Football competition in Kogi Central to shore up her chances for election.
In Kogi East, Robert Arome Eboh’s boss, Victor Adoji has also staged a final match between Olamaboro And Dekina today.
I am still thinking of how many more aspirants would open up their “political philanthropy” and “political ideas to develop the youths” as the elections are here.
Ironically, the youths can only be developed during election seasons.
While both of them are at this, Gov. Yahaya Bello has given all the necessary monetary, logistics, psychological and human support to Kogi United which has been in existence for about 42 years, fighting hard for about 23 years to get into the Nigerian Premier League without success premeditated by lackluster  and debilitating support from the past administrations in Kogi State.
Yesterday, it happened. After 23 years, Omaye, Orè, Otame- IT HAPPENED!!!
Kogi United has been elevated to the Nigerian Premier League. The current chairman of the club Abdul Sule was a one time Nigerian Super Eagles player.
Do you see the divine connection?
Governor Bello keeps unearthing the “pillars” of Kogi and reawakening every corner with a classic touch, amidst the plethora of social scandals hanging on his head.
Imagine that Confluence Stadium hosts many Nigerian League players weekly but Kogi United, owner of the stadium is unable to participate. Now, it is passed. We can now say, “Enyimba of Aba plays away to Kogi United at Lokoja” this week. Then on Super Sports Channel 9, Kogi United would be broadcast live to Nigerians.
Did this take a political season decision? No.
Consistency. Vision. Empathy. Emotional presence. Loyalty to vision and development of sports in Kogi State.
Whilst others keep playing kalokalo Political philanthropy, Gov. Bello has been able to give every Kogites working off their socks the chance to dream bigger for a national stage.
Who knows, we may pick one or two boys from their politically-staged matches for onward elevation by the Governor who is for ALL Kogites, all religion, all people and all aspirations.
Adoza, Avoh!
