Federal University Lokoja Alumni Association has assured the newly appointed Pro-Chancellor of its support in projecting the ideals of the institution.
President of the Association, Comrade Mohamned Yusuf, gave the assurance when he led members on a courtesy visit to the new Pro- Chancellor who also doubles as the Governing Council Chairman of the institution in Lokoja recently.
He assured the Pro-Chancellor of the readiness of members to render selfless services in the form of free tutorial classes for university undergraduates among others.
He also used the opportunity to congratulate Senator Adighije and members of the council over their recent appointments, adding that the Alumni was optimistic that with the caliber of people appointed, they would contribute their quota to the enhancement of the standard of the institution.
While commending the Vice Chancellor, Prof Angela Freeman and the management team for recruiting students who graduated with first class from the institution during the last employment exercise, Comrade Yusuf appealed to the Pro-Chancellor to also consider members of the Alumni for employment.
He highlighted some of the challenges confronting the Alumni to include, lack of office accommodation, allocation of land in the permanent site for Alumni farming activities and inclusion of Alumni signature column on the clearance form for final year and post graduate students to ease the collection of Alumni fee.
Responding, the new Pro-Chancellor, Senator Adighije commended the Alumni for their cooperation and support to the university authority.
He also promised to look into all their requests and challenges assuring that they would be addressed in due course.
