Fasting, Prayers Will Accelerate Individual, National Progress – Bishop Ibenu

The General Overseer of Chapel of Freedom International Churches, Lokoja, Bishop John Ibenu has urged people to engage in fasting and prayer in order to rededicate themselves to God in the new year.

He stated this during the service to mark the end of this year’s twenty one days of Chapel of Freedom Churches fasting and prayer in Lokoja.

Bishop Ibenu, who is also the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kogi state chapter, said fasting and prayer is a way to pursue God to give believers good life, good health and better living.

He said the church was out to build the spiritual life of the people, stressing that this year’s fasting and prayer organised by the church would bring progress to Nigeria and Nigerians.

The cleric who also described fasting and prayer as the right way to seek God’s face and move closer to him, appealed to the people to always seek God in truth and in spirit.

He urged Nigerians to keep hope alive and continue to pray for the peace and progress of the country at large and the state in particular.

Highlights of the service was taking of Holy Communion and anointing as well as wrapping the Nigerian flag around his body, praying for country.
