Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye has called on Nigerian to continue to make sacrifice for the development of Nigeria.
Melaye made the call in a sallah message sent to newsmen on Tuesday.
He urged Nigerians to embrace peace and promote peaceful co-existence, irrespective of their religious differences.
“It is no doubt that it’s a special occasion, which teaches the virtues of obedience and sacrifice as it reminds us the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), who sacrificed his son to show obedience to God’s command.
“We should continue to sacrifice for the development of this country in any position we find ourselves so that we can leave a better and greater Nigeria behind for the generations unborn.
“I therefore urge all Nigerians irrespective of religious differences to embrace peace and promote peaceful coexistence in their day-to-day living and among one another.
“At this juncture, let’s continue to pray for our dear nation – Nigeria – particularly for the peaceful conduct of the 2019 general elections and total restoration of peace to troubled parts of the country,” he said.
