The Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, has extended a warm welcome to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her visit to Kogi State, describing it as a significant moment for the “Confluence State” and the nation at large.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Dr. Abdullahi said the First Lady’s visit reflects “a profound demonstration” of her commitment to national unity, grassroots development, and the welfare of Nigerians across the country’s regions.
He linked the visit to the broader agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, saying it mirrors the administration’s inclusive approach to improving citizens’ quality of life and driving sustainable development nationwide.

The ECN boss noted that as Nigeria continues to prioritize energy security, innovation, and sustainable growth, the First Lady’s presence in Kogi sends a message of renewed hope and reinforces efforts to advance initiatives in energy, infrastructure, and human capital development — sectors he identified as critical to the country’s socio-economic progress.
Dr. Abdullahi also highlighted Kogi State’s strategic significance, describing it as a gateway linking Nigeria’s North and South, and expressed confidence that the First Lady’s engagements during the visit would deepen partnerships and strengthen ongoing efforts to empower communities across the state.
On behalf of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, Dr. Abdullahi commended Senator Tinubu’s leadership and her sustained advocacy for women, youth, and vulnerable groups nationwide, describing her role as one marked by both service and compassion.
He closed the statement with well wishes for a successful and memorable visit to Kogi State.
