The Executive Chairman of Adavi local government, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami has cautioned stakeholders on the need to celebrate this year’s Ebe traditional festival without any form of public disturbance.
The council chairman made this know during a high-powered security meeting with traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, ward heads, region leaders, security agencies, masquerade custodians and other in Ogaminina on Wednesday.
He charged the stakeholders to ensure all hands are on deck to maintain peace during the Ebe festival scheduled to hold on the 26th of February, 2022.
“Kindly take some issues into consideration while celebrating. Masquerades are expected to take the centre stage between 9pm to 9am the following day which will be on Sunday.
“No masquerade should be seen after the stipulated time as people of the Christian faith will have to go for church services.
“We commend everyone who have always supported this government in maintaining peace and order, and also want to assure the public of our readiness to maintain sanity in Adavi LG,” the council boss said.
The stakeholders commended the efforts of the Executive Chairman for being proactive, his attention and concern for the people, and his relentless feats to sustain peace and unity amongst the people that dwells across the 159 communities in Adavi LGA.
“You have performed beyond our expectations and we must admit that your administration has successfully restored the lost glory of Adavi, and we can proudly say our local government is one of the most peaceful LG in the state.”
The DPO of Adavi LG, who also spoke on behalf of other security agencies, appealed to every community leader to caution their people as he vowed that they will not condone any form of nuisance in the name of celebration.
