A gubernatorial aspirant and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Sunday Umoru has urged the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Elder Simon Achuba to dump the All Progressive Congress (APC).

In a press statement issued to Kogireports, Umoru came out in strong terms to adjure the Deputy Governor to take the noble decision following the alleged existence of strained relationship between him and Gov. Yahaya Bello.

It was also alleged that his salaries and allowances has remained unpaid, light and water supply to his office and official residence has also remained disconnected.

Chief Umoru lamented that such ill treatment towards Deputy Governor Simon Achuba is uncalled for and adjure Achuba to dump APC and “come back home” to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where he truly belongs, and not wait until Gov. Bello mortify him out of office.

The PDP chieftain, Chief Umoru further said; “I am assuring the Deputy Gov. Achuba that the option of decamping to the PDP will not be dicey for him to choose, because he has nothing to lose, but have a lot to gain most especially if he decamps to PDP prior to the 2019 Presidential election.”

Chief Umoru, from his own point of view, said he do not see any possibility of the Deputy Gov. Simon Achuba and Gov. Yahaya Bello reconciling whatever differences they might have had to smoke out all the rumored allegations, and if Achuba decides to remain in office, the government forces will roll out its full battle array to have him removed from office.

Chief Umoru further buttressed his advice that Deputy Gov. Simon Achuba should decamp now referencing that Gov. Yahaya Bello did not even deem it fit for his deputy to take charge of the affairs of the state when Gov. Bello knew in advance he was going to travel to Poland last year 2018, and compel Achuba to go on annual leave but was rather comfortable to handover the government seat to the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Kolawole, to act on his behalf before departing with President Muhammadu Buhari for the Climate Change Summit in Poland.

“This singular act of ridicule alone, is enough rationale for the Deputy Gov. Simon Achuba to gracefully bow out of Gov. Yahaya Bello’s administration because Achuba’s continued silence without a word or action will not do him any good as stony-hearted Gov. Yahaya Bello will not change his position of cruelty,” said Chief Umoru.
