Dr. Yakubu Oseni, APC flag bearer, Kogi Central in the forthcoming Senatorial election scheduled for February 16th 2019, has described Governor Yahaya Bello as a role model in purposeful leadership.
He stated that Gov. Bello is a leader who cares for the citizens of Kogi State, as exemplified in his laudable new direction vision.
Dr. Oseni noted that Governor Yahaya Bello has written his name on the sand of time in the political evolution of the state, given his land mark achievements in the areas of security, infrastructure, agriculture, health, education, transportation, environment, youths and women empowerment, management of the economy, diversification of the economy, fight against corruption, waste and sanitation management and transparency and accountability in the affairs of the state in the last three years.
According to Dr. Oseni, it was only the time of Governor Yahaya Bello that a successful holistic screening of the civil servants was carried out in the history of the state, pointing out that the age long rot and decay in the civil service system was uprooted once and for all. He said the state government is now operating a payroll system devoid of ghost workers and its attendant corruption in the system.
The APC flag bearer said it was during the time of governor Yahaya Bello that the state assembly was able to pass a bill granting full autonomy to the state Internal Revenue Services. He said this has impacted greatly on the IGR of the state, as KGIRS under his watch was able to post a monthly IGR of over 1Billion naira which was duly remitted to the state coffers. This was a monumental increase compared to the miserable 200 million monthly IGR recorded before the coming onboard of the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
Dr. Oseni noted that Governor Yahaya Bello constructed a befitting edifice to house the headquarters of KGIRS.
According to him, Governor Yahaya Bello also gave the enabling environment for local government administration in the state as there was full support to all the twenty one local governments in Kogi State who were able to run a seamless and independent local government administration that was unprecedented in the history of the state.
Speaking on the preparedness of the state for 2019 general elections, the APC flag bearer noted that the Governor and his party members would surely deliver bloc votes for Mr. President Muhammadu Buhari and all APC candidates in the staggered elections, starting with the presidential/senatorial elections that is under way in few weeks time.
In conclusion, Dr. Oseni enjoined all electorates in the state, particularly those in Kogi Central, to come out en-mass and cast their votes in favour of him and other APC candidates standing for election on that day.
He said he was optimistic that by the special grace of God victory would come his way because he is clearly the best candidate and the one to beat.
He said his four point manifesto has been sold to the public since August last year when his party kick started his campaigns and mega rallies.
