The candidacy of Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman Oyibe (rtd) for the November 11th governorship election in Kogi state seems to be gathering more momentum as Dr Yakubu Ugwolawo, Rt Hon Emmanuel Omebije, Alhaji Akus and other Kogi East elders have joined forces with the flagbearer of the Accord party.

The development was unveiled on Monday during a meeting between the candidate and the political stakeholders in Abuja.

Speaking at the meeting, Ugwolawo disclosed that he was part and parcel of Muritala Ajaka’s campaign in the Social Democratic Party (SDP) but had to leave the camp to join Jibrin whom he said stands a better chance of becoming the next governor of Kogi State.

Recall that Kogi East critical stakeholders had adopted Jibrin as the consensus candidate of the region. Even though some of the members of the stakeholders had left the camp, the Accord party candidate seems to be receiving more political bigwigs into the fold in the past few days.
