The Intra Party crisis in Idah Local Government Area may be taking yet another fresh dimension as feelers from Idah shows the nomination for the next Cabinet Member from the Local Government Area has been marred with external interference against the popular wish of the people of the Area.
In a development which has left major stakeholders of APC in Idah at the mercy of the external force whom many believes to be acting on illegitimate intents, the major stakeholders comprising of the Serving House of Assembly member representing Idah state Constituency, the Local Government Administrator, Local Government Party Chairman, Secretary, Women and Youth Leaders from Idah and a host of others had earlier endorsed the immediate past Commissioner from Idah Prince Sani Ogu Salisu as Idah Local Government Area nominee for the next Executive Council.
However, there seem to be contrary development to the wish of these stakeholders as sources within the Kogi State Government House reveals that as at mid Thursday, 23rd January, 2020, another name was submitted against the initial resolutions reached by the stakeholders on Wednesday.
One of the stakeholders who doesn’t want His name in print confirmed to this medium that “if at all there is any change, then it’s the handiwork of Kogi East Zonal Chairman, Ahmedi Attah who the former accused of meddling into the affairs of Idah Local Government without considering the popular wish of the people”.
Speaking further, the stakeholder accused the Zonal Chairman of insisting on a particular candidate against the resolution of the stakeholders stressing that if Idah stakeholders are allowed to sit ten times, they will freely and unanimously endorse Salisu Ogu whom he described as the most acceptable choice from Idah.
Several calls to the phone line of the Kogi East APC Zonal Chairman to ascertain his stand on the matter proved abortive as his phone lines were off.
It can be however recalled that, there have been series of meetings across the various Local Governments, especially in Kogi East  without any interference and hence, a matter of serious concerns why the Zonal Chairman is hell bent on Idah Local Government.
