Council Leaders’ Forum Lauds Gov Ododo for Consolidating on Legacy of Gender Inclusion

Kogi State Council Leaders’ Forum has expressed gratitude to Governor Usman Ododo for his gender-friendly policy that gave elected women councillors the uncommon opportunity to become leaders of the legislative arm in the twenty one local government councils in the state.

In a statement jointly signed by the Convener and council leader of Kabba-Bunu LGA, Mrs. Comfort Olufunke Obaromi, and Co-Conveners, Rt. Hon. Idris Mariam, Council Leader, Ofu LGA and Rt. Hon. Yusuf Elizabeth Onozare, Council Leader, Adavi LGA, the Forum noted that this gender friendly policy is unprecedented in the history of political evolution in sub-shahara Africa.

“We want to sincerely thank your Excellency for building on the legacies of our great leader, former Governor Yahaya Bello (FGYB), the Architect of Modern Kogi State, whose love for women participation in politics is unparalleled,” they said.

The Forum assured Governor Ododo of their unalloyed support for his vision of continuity and consolidation of the New Direction Government in the state.

“To all our colleagues, we are using this medium to congratulate all of us on our emergence as Leader of the Legislative Arm of our LGA. We enjoined everyone of us to be dedicated and loyal to our principal. political leaders, critical stakeholders, party stalwarts and above all, our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“To our one and only Mother of Mercy, the First Lady of Kogi State, Her Excellency, Hajiya Sefinatu Usman Ododo, we cannot thank you enough Ma. We appreciate your Excellency for all you are doing for growth and Development of the Girl-Child in Kogi State.

“We make bold to say that your Excellency is an outstanding asset and role model any women organization will always wish to have. We pray that Almighty Allah will continue to bless the First Family with good health at all times, amen.”
