Businessman and politician, Mr. Wemi Jones has described the coronation of Oba David Sunday Ehindero, the Fourth Olu of Aiyetoro-Gbedde as not only historic but also a celebration of unity, tradition, culture and uniqueness of the people of the community. He made this declaration in his interaction with pressmen during the event. Mr Wemi Jones, who was the Chairman of the occasion added that the orderly manner the Royal Father emerged is a testimony of the peaceful nature of the people of Aiyetoro-Gbedde.
Mr.Wemi Jones described his presence in the event as another homecoming because he was born in the great community and was highly elated to be part of the history being made. The virtuous nature of sons and daughters of Aiyetoro-Gbedde, Mr. Wemi Jones added is evident for all to see and is worthy of emulation in tackling issues that are contentious. Mr.Wemi Jones opined that as a people, Okun people have the capacity to eschew acrimony and work in unity for the progress and development of Okunland which will enhance the life of our people.
Mr. Wemi Jones wishes Kabiyesi long life in good health and abundance of God’s grace, divine endowment of wisdom to oversee the affairs of his community.
The auspicious event was attended by members of Kogi State Executive Council ably led by the Secretary to Kogi State Government, Dr. (Mrs) Folasade Ayoade Arike who represented the State Governor, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello.
Other dignitaries that graced the occasion include notable political appointees from Okunland among who are Asiwaju Idris Asiru. The Administrator of Ijumu LGA and Kogi State ALGON Chairman also led other Administrators from Okunland to the occasion. The event was equally witnessed by members of Okun Traditional Council led by the Acting Chairman of the Council, HRH, Oba Ikusemoro; Olubunu of Bunu.
