The renewed call for purposeful leadership in Kogi Central has once again brought Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro into the spotlight as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 senatorial race. His re-emergence is not driven by personal ambition alone, but by a long-standing commitment to address critical developmental challenges that have lingered in the district for decades.
Chief Obaro’s vision is rooted in practical solutions that directly impact the daily lives of the people. Among his foremost priorities is the provision of pipe-borne water to communities across Kogi Central. Access to clean and reliable water remains a major concern in many areas, and his administration aims to ensure that both rural and urban communities benefit from sustainable water supply systems.
In addition, he has expressed strong concern over the burden of microfinance loans, particularly those associated with LAPO, which have placed significant pressure on women in the region. His agenda includes creating alternative support systems and economic opportunities that will help alleviate this burden and promote financial independence among women.

Youth empowerment stands as a central pillar of his proposed leadership. Chief Obaro plans to establish mini small-scale industries, particularly in livestock production, as a strategic response to unemployment and the shortage of essential food items such as eggs. This initiative is expected to not only create jobs but also stimulate local economic growth and food security.
Education also features prominently in his development blueprint. He has pledged to provide scholarships for less privileged students, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to quality education. Furthermore, the establishment of ultra-modern libraries across the district will create conducive learning environments and enhance academic excellence among students.
Drawing inspiration from the legacy of the late Alhaji Adamu Atta, whose tenure witnessed significant advancements in education and infrastructure, including the establishment of over 25 secondary schools and provision of potable water in areas like Okene checkpoint and Kuroko, Chief Obaro seeks to build on this foundation. He emphasizes that his mission is not about making empty promises, but about delivering measurable results.
According to him, plans to extend potable water to more communities are already in motion, with clear templates and strategies in place. While he remains cautious about making definitive promises regarding the long-standing issues surrounding Ajaokuta and Itakpe Steel Companies, he expresses confidence that his extensive network, global exposure, and business experience will attract opportunities and improvements to the region.
Chief Momoh Yusuf Obaro assures the people of Kogi Central that his aspiration is driven by a genuine desire to serve and uplift the district. He believes that with collective support, strategic planning, and committed leadership, Kogi Central can witness a new era of growth and development come 2027.
