Member representing Okehi-Adavi Federal constituency at the House of Representative, Hon. Muhammed Kabir Ajanah has promised to deploy government resources and services to create fair and equal opportunities for his constituents.
Ajanah made the promise during his constituency empowerment programme in Ogaminana yesterday. 1,500 market women from across Kogi Central senatorial district were given financial assistance by the lawmaker to boost their current small scale businesses.
The programme tagged ‘Grassroot Women Empowerment Scheme’ is one of the constituency intervention intiatives of Ajanah. This is coming shortly after a similar intervention where over 600 youths were empowered by the Federal lawmaker.
Ajanah said he is empowering market women in his constituency because he sees them as the true heroes of democracy whose steadfast support has keep him positive on his legislative assignment. He said, with the empowerment, he is convinced that economic activities at the grassroot will improve, families will be empowered and the communities will be better for it.
One of the beneficiaries of the scheme, Mrs Janet Onivo applauded Ajanah for his vision and commitment to the well-being of market women. She commended the lawmaker for other laudable projects he has embarked upon in the area like the installation of transformer in Oziokutu, Obangede and Eika.
