Community Policing: Ata Igala Assures CP Dantawaye of Traditional Council’s Support

Ata Igala, His Royal Majesty, Dr Matthew Alaji Opaluwa, has pledging the full support of the Igala Kingdom in providing the Kogi State Police Command intelligence and cooperation to aid security operations.

The revered monarch made this known when the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller Dantawaye paid him a courtesy visit in Idah.

CP Dantawaye, accompanied by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 8 Headquarters, AIG Abubakar Zubairu, visited the monarch for his royal blessings and to further solidify the existing synergy between the Police and the traditional leadership in ensuring a safer Kogi state.

In his address, Ata Igala commended the Commissioner for his bravery and dedication, assuring him of his total support for effective policing in the state.

Following the visit to the Atah Igala’s Palace, the Commissioner of Police and the AIG proceeded to the Area Command in Idah, where they were received by the Area Commander along with Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) from Idah, Ofu, Ajaka, Odolu, Akpanya and Ibaji. The event saw the presence of Local Government Chairmen, Traditional Chiefs, the Vigilante Group, hunters, and members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).

During the meeting, the security stakeholders in Idah reiterated their commitment to ensuring genuine security in the region. They urged the Commissioner of Police to enhance collaboration between law Enforcement Agencies and Local Security outfits in the fight against crime.

CP Dantawaye assured the people of Idah and Kogi State at large that the Police would continue to work closely with communities to maintain law and order.

He emphasized the importance of intelligence-sharing and cooperation, promising that the command would take decisive actions to curb criminal activities across the state.
