Christmas: Awoniyi Charge Christians to Reflect on God’s Gift

Yomi Awoniyi, Kogi State Deputy Governor, has called on Christians to use the celebration of this year’s Christmas to reflect on God’s perfect gift to mankind.

Yomi Awoniyi stated this in his Christmas message, appealed to Christians to use the yuletide to seek the face of God for way out of the nations security and socio-economic challenges.

The Deputy Governor described Christmas as a time for Nigerians of christian extraction to appreciate the gift of Jesus Christ giving to mankind by God and strive for the unity and togetherness of the country.

Awoniyi charged Nigerians to sincerely share genuine love with one another especially in this season and reach out to those of other faith to really exemplify the meaning of Christmas.

The Deputy Governor described love as that ingredient that can build bridges of unity, peace, togetherness and tolerance that the nation truly needs.

Awoniyi urged the people to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with moderation, charged them not to lose touch with the reason for Christmas, but to pray fervently for the state and nation to be great and for it to achieve its potentials.

The Deputy Governor commended the state governor Capt Idris Wada for creating a peaceful environment for people of different religions to coexist peacefully. He prayed God to grant Capt Wada the desired wisdom to be able to take the state to the promised land.
