• Says recognition is deserving, worthwhile
The member representing Idah Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. David Idris Zacharias has felicitated with Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello and his Deputy, Edward Onoja on the conferment of chieftaincy titles on them as Oga-Onu-Ogu Attah of Igala and the Olimene-Attah of Igala Kingdom.
In a statement he signed personally, Zacharias, described the titles conferred on Governor Bello and his deputy as well deserved given the love the governor has shown to the Igala people as well as the political exposure Edward Onoja has given to numerous young Igala/Bassa sons and daughters.
Zacharias also observed that the title of Olimene -Attah conferred on Edward Onoja aptly fits to his personality and how he courageously broke the chains of political godfatherisim in Igala/Bassa land shown in the discovery of new and young hands to be at the helm of affairs in the state.
According to him, the titles conferred on their Excellences is an affirmation that the Attah, who is the traditional leader of the Igala people values the impact of the government under Bello’s watch.
The statement added that the ongoing road that is leading to Idah, the Idah Ageienbode Bridge being facilitated under a public private partnership arrangement as well as completed in Ankpa – Ogugu roads are testament that the duo meant well for the Igala nation.
“One may wonder how you were spotted for this chieftaincy title, but for me and my constituents, we are not surprised owing to the magnitude of goodwill and contacts at your disposal with which you have piloted the affairs of the state.
“For Onoja particularly, you have written your name in gold and it will take time for your imprints to be erased from the hearts of the Igala/Bassa people whose young ones are more in government.”
He added, “We are aware that all the goodwill your Excellencies have received emanated from the Igala land in not unconnected to your stupendous and unrivalled generosity the Igala people have received from you”
Also, the lawmaker further commended the monarch for recognizing the good works of the Governor, his deputy an others on the list to be honored.
The lawmaker noted that he will rally round the duo of Yahaya Bello and his deputy, Chief Edward Onoja to ensure that Idah federal constituency benefits from a number of projects that will better the life of the constituents.
