Olamaboro Local Government Area came alive during the weekend as the Kogi State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe mobilized a human load of 10 Hiace buses, which formed part of the convoy of the Kogi East All Progressives Congress, APC, Candidate for the 2027 elections, Dr Joseph Ameh Erico’ convoy when he held a Thank You and Home Coming Tour to Indigenes of Kogi East who voted his candidature as the APC candidate. The tour started from Itobe, down to Idah, the Headquarters of Igala land to receive the blessings of His Royal Majesty, the Ata Igala before proceeding to Anyigba, down to Ankpa and finally coalesced at his country home, Etutekpe in Olamaboro LGA community of Kogi State.
In the convoy of the APC candidate was the Governor of Kogi State in solidarity, represented by the Deputy Governor, Elder Joel Salifu and the Deputy Majority Leader of the Nigerian House of Representatives, Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims who is also the candidate of APC for the Ankpa Federal Constituency House of Representatives, and his co-candidates from Dekina/Bassa Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna and Idah Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Victor Uchoala.
The Commissioner speaking, emphasized the role of unity in the local government under his leadership which has galvanized all and sundry for the all important task, promising the readiness of his people to deliver all the candidates of the party in the next coming elections from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Senate, House of Representatives seats, State Assembly Seats and the LGA Council polls which according to him, has been made possible by the support and leadership of the Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo whose mandate shall also be delivered come November 2027.
In continuation of his grassroots mobilization, he hosted the HAMA support group ambassadors, the leadership of HAMA Support Group, comprising of four hundred 400 representatives from the entire 174 polling units and ten wards of Olamaboro to a charge-and-ready family meeting. He charged the group to intensify their mobilization to deliver the candidates of the party, a vehicle Specially being designed to also deliver the mandate of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo come 2027 gubernatorial elections.
In his country home of Igah, a mecca of people formed to show solidarity, housing different community groups, women groups, youth groups and others.
At Ugbamaka Igah, he visited the community, donating street lights on behalf of His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ododo and also revitalizing their community borehole which was an immediate request placed by the people.
The people of Ichabo and Ugbohbo polling units danced in joy as the gesture of the Governor had finally reached their door step.
The handworkers, Okada Unions and other groups numbering 15, also paid the Commissioner a visit to pledge their support to his leadership and the administration of Governor Usman Ododo.
At Ogugu, he led the APC Candidate for the October LGA polls, Hon. Achor Emmanuel to a mini youth parley at the market square, introducing the candidate of the party who is also a son of the Ogugu people. He charged them for their support and promised to galvanize his associates, community stakeholders and sundry for the support in erecting a Youth House for the Ogugu Youths, a gesture he has replicated in his own community of Igah.
The climax of the activities of the weekend ended when the Commissioner who doubles as the political leader of the Local Government lead available political appointees and other stakeholders to the home of the APC candidate, Dr Joe Ameh Erico to reassure him of the support of his colleagues, govt and the political machinery of Olamaboro in delivering his candidature come February 2027.
