Kogi State Security Adviser, Navy Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), has read riot act against landlords giving their property to criminals in the state.

Speaking on a security enlightenment programme on Radio Kogi on Monday, Omodara warned that any house used for criminal activities in the state will be pulled down.

According to him, government and the people must join hands to tackle insecurity as it is not the responsibility of government alone.

The Security Adviser commended the people for giving information to security agencies which has helped in the policing of the state and urged them to do more.

He called on Caretaker Chairmen to take charge of security in their respective local government areas.

Speaking on the efforts of the Governor Usman Ododo led administration in the Area of security, Omodara said the state will be more secured under the present administration.

He explained that the present administration is building on the foundation of security laid down by former Governor Yahaya Bello, saying the state security architecture is being reviewed to suit current trends.

While fielding questions on how improved security can enhance food security, Omodara enjoined people of the state to take responsibility by engaging in farming without fear of being attacked.

He stated that the first major meeting of the Governor was with farmers who gave the roadmap of ensuring food security in the state, noting that government will continue to do its best to ensure that farmers do their legitimate business.

Commander Omodara stated that normalcy has returned to Obajana-Oshokoshoko road as well as Ogale-Aduge-Ayere roads which was recently used by kidnappers to perform their criminal activities.

He said the recent move by the Federal and State Governments to establish State Police is commendable which according to him will provide a viable security architecture for the country.
