Efforts by Rt. Hon. Umar Buba Jibril to ensure the preservation of the Holy Qur’an through memorization by young boys and girls within the age bracket of nine to 13 years are yielding result with the recent graduation of 20 students who have successfully completed the holy Qur’an.
The Walimatul Qur’an which took place at is country home Lokoja, where over 20 students successfully completed the glorious Quran while each of the student were given the sum of N10,000 along with clothes and the tutors were given generators couple with the sum of N50,000.
The Islamic school by Hon Umar Buba Jibril, in Lokoja at his residence, is tuition -free and owned by him and have been producing students under the guidance of the tutors.
Last Saturday, the Madrassatul -Qur’an graduated 20 students who had committed the Qur’an into memory.
The students consisting of (male) and (female) were between the age of 13 and 18 while the overall best graduating student in the male category, Idris Nurudeen completed the Qur’an recitation within eight months and nine days while Hauwa, the overall best graduating student in the female category completed the recitation of the holy Qur’an
within one year, four months and four days.
Rt Hon Umar Buba Jibril, at the occasion appealed to the graduands to maintain the memorisation of the Holy Qur’an by reciting a part of it every day.
Adding: “By doing so, they won’t forget what they have learnt at the school. The best way to achieve this is to impart the knowledge of the Holy Qur’an to the younger ones and they would be blessed in return.”
Speaking further, he said, “Muslims should be in the best position to change positively, the behaviours of everyone through the display of good virtues of the Holy Qur’an after its completion and memorisation.”
He advised the parents of the graduands to ensure that their children recite a part of the Qur’an in their presence every day.
Also, the chief Imam Isah kutepa central mosque, Imam Yahaya Abubilat later acknowledged Hon Umar Buba that its funding the Qur’anic School.
While addressing the graduating students, he said, “As from today, you are starting another phase in life . Therefore, if you are guided and guarded well, there is nothing you cannot achieve .”
In his own address, the Imam urged the graduating students especially the girls to transfer their knowledge of the Qur’an to their children when they start procreating. He also pointed that they should be obedient, respectful and dutiful to Allah.
Meanwhile Mallam Abdulrahman Danladi kabawa in his welcome address said , “Qur’an stands out as the only religious book that has continuously enjoy the honour of being memorized through ages since its revelation. The promise of its protection, preservation and memorization is in the Holy Qur ’an itself.
“Surely, we are the one that revealed the exhortation and it is our prerogative to protect it.’ So we have come to honour and celebrate those who share in the blessings and honour of the Holy Qur’a.
“The programme is a message to such people that not only do we believe in Qur’an, but we also believe in its preservation”
He also used the opportunity to appreciate those who contributed immensely to the success of the graduation ceremony.
Idris Abdullahi, one of the graduating student said , “It is only Allah that made it possible for me to finish the Qur’an within that stipulated duration. When I first got admission into the madrasat, I was scared and I asked myself if I would be able to finish reciting the Qur’an.
“Today, I give thanks to the Almighty Allah for giving me the wisdom and understanding to finish the Qur’an recitation quickly. It was very hard at the beginning but very easy at the end. One of the things that made me finish in time was that I was focused and I believed Allah has destined it that way”
