Bologi Joins House of Reps Race

In pursuance of his ambition to represent the people of Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, the immediate past commissioner for information, Alhaji Yabagi Bologi, has held final consultation with the people of his constituency and declared his intention to contest for House of Representative in Abuja.

The final consultation with the people of his constituency (Lokoja), witnessed the convergence of people from different strata of society, all of whom were at the gathering held in Kewon Hotels, voiced their support to the immediate past Chairman of Lokoja LGA, Bologi.

In his declaration statement, Bologi told the people that his decision to contest for the Federal house of representatives was informed by the consultations he had with critical stakeholders within the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), and came to the conclusion that the party needs a sellable candidate that the people can relate with.

According to him, the party runs the danger of losing the election into the position at the national assembly to opposition party if steps are not taken by the leadership to field a credible candidate with a track record.

Bologi, who went down the memory lane to recapture his antecedents as Chairman of Local Government, said though he has just finished serving as a commissioner, he realized that he can only impact lives of his people meaningfully if he occupies an office in an elected capacity.

In his address, the Chairman PDP, Lokoja LGA, Hon. Mohammed Tanimu Mohammed, said the party has devised means to ensure that all candidates are credible through transparent primaries.

He said the party is determined to put its house in order by ensuring that in the process of candidate selection, no one would be shortchanged, and prayed for the emergence of the candidate that all would be happy with.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of Elders’ Forum, Ward B, Alhaji Ndambabo Idris, described Bologi as a man with midas touch. He reviewed some of his achievements in the society even before he became Chairman of Lokoja LGA, saying that he is someone the people can trust.

Dignitaries who converged at the gathering include Chairmen of PDP from Wards B, C and D; women and youth associations, party leaders and faithfuls.
