Over the past weeks, there has been a lot of noise from the government sponsored paid agents in Kogi state to further popularize Governor Yahaya Bello’s ill-fated second term bid as the executive governor of the state.

First was on 6th of July, 2019 when the Igala unity house was commissioned. It was a magnificent ceremony graced by prominent sons and daughters as well as friends and well wishers of the Igala nation. The mammoth crowd present at the occasion was unprecedented that the shallow thinking agents of the governor disconcerted it as an occasion which signified the acceptance and endorsement of governor Bello’s second term ambition by the good people of the celebrant kingdom.

Second was on 8th July when a media aide to the governor posted on his facebook wall, a picture of the governor with the caption, “He stopped by to buy papers on the street of Lokoja. He is a servant. He is not what you think. He is humble and ready. #Leadership”

The aide acclaimed humble act of the governor has been a talk of the town and also, it serves as a watchword among his followers. One would be forced to ask what solution the humble act of his proffered to salvage the already deteriorated socio-economic and poor living condition of the state and her people respectively. What has that to do with the welfare of suffering Kogites?

Furthermore, in accordance with his dead-on-arrival ambition, while he was at the APC national secretariat to pick his expression of intent and nomination form, some sets of hungry praise singers in conjunction with the paid agents were around to cheer him up as usual. It a pity these people are not registered voters in the state.

His subsequent meeting with President Buhari and Asiwaju Tinubu was celebrated among his people as if he, governor Bello have been returned winner of the election.

These are mere misconceptions amongst the followers of the clueless governor.

From the foregoing, despite the enormous efforts of the media and campaign teams of the under performed governor to redeem his already tarnished image, the resolve of the people, which is to send the demagogue and his cronies out of the Lugard house “patapataly” come November 16th remains unwavered not even in the face of threats, deprivation of workers salaries or sanctions of any form.

Enough is enough (Otoge), enough of Ebicracy(Ebi literally means Hunger in Yoruba), government of the hungry, by the hungry and for the hungry.
