A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress in Kogi State and former speaker of the state Assembly, Clarence Olafemi, a.k.a Obembe, has said that with what happened at the presidential and National Assembly, the APC will definitely win the governorship election slated for the latter part of the year.
Clarence, in his reaction to the victory of the APC candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, said there was no magic that could save the PDP “because they have performed woefully in the state”.
He said the 2015 presidential election was the best ever in the history of the nation, adding that though he had been in politics for the past 40 years, he had never witnessed a peaceful election like the last one.
He said the conduct of security agents at polling units also aided the peaceful conduct of the election. He advised that the timing between accreditation and voting should not be uniform because there are polling units that do not have up to 100 voters, while others have more.
Olafemi commended the use of Card Reader for the election by INEC, saying it helped to reduce electoral malpractices to the barest minimum.
