Some concerned members of the All Progressives Congress Party (APC) in Bassa local government of Kogi state have to “resist democratically” any attempt to smuggle any person who did not take part in the May 26 primary election through the back door.

A press statement signed by Samuel Kure in Lokoja, on behalf of the group, noted that Bassa people are peace loving but would protest publicly any move by the leadership of state APC to impose an individual who did not participate in the May 26 assembly primary election.

The statement added that the Bassa APC House of Assembly primary election was held on May 26 at Oguma within the INEC timetable and Hon Ranyi Daniya won with 40 votes to beat his rival who scored only 7 votes.

The statement added that the peace loving Governor Yahaya Bello has spent colossal amount of resources to restore peace in Bassa, adding that some elements at the state level of APC have continued to plant disharmony in Bassa in order to cause crisis in the land.

The statement advised some members of APC at the state level not to see themselves as demigods as the ultimate right to give power only belongs to God.
