As the build up for the 2023 general election thickens, the choice between the good people of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Local Government Areas of Kogi State on who to represent the Federal Constituency can be likened to the comtism philosophy of Science.

The comtism philosophy of science is a proposal by Auguste Comte that the positivistic philosophy which advocates that metaphysics and theology should be replaced by a hierarchy of sciences from mathematics at the base to sociology at the top. What the theory means is that explanations and guidelines should be substituted with actions and results. This way, simple mathematics should be made the foundation of everything while sociology (impacts on human interactions) be the focal end of every solution.

In interweaving the forgoing with the 2023 general elections, what is before the good people of Ankpa Federal Constituency is a vivid study of Rep. Halims’ three and half years in office as well as its impact on the people of the area.

For the records, the primary responsibility of anyone elected into any of the legislative offices in Nigeria is to be a voice for the Constituency he or she shall be representing while the primary duties of the legislative arm of government is to make laws and checkmate the activities of the executive arm of government. Thus, it is not duty bound on Legislators to be embarking on physical infrastructure developmental projects, social welfare programs or any other economic expectation that is outside the legislative frameworks.

However, with the introduction of Zonal Intervention Projects(ZIP) cum the increasing demand for the dividends of democracy by the electorates, Lawmakers can(depending on personal capacities) go out of his or her way to fulfill these expectations.

Being a man who knows his onion, equipped with the requisite know-how of relevant legislative processes, determined about the well being of his people and deliberate about his penchant for socioeconomic development: Rep. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims upon inauguration swung into action at the National Assembly and has been able to turn things around for himself and people so much that his achievements have practically counterfeited all his predecessors put together within a very short spell.

To say the least, there is no electoral ward across the three Local Government Areas of his jurisdiction without a provable presence of his stewardship and this shall be the yardstick of his reelection come February 25th, 2023.

Among many other gigantic Projects, Rep. Halims has successfully carried out the control of gulley erosion with a standard drainage system at Ejinya Efofe in Ankpa Local Government, facilitated an ongoing construction of Uko Bridge in Olamaboro Local Government Area to link Okpo to Ankpa and Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Called for the establishment of a Naval Outpost at Bagana in Omala Local Government Area amidst the installation of solar powered street lights in all the ward headquarters and suburb communities of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency.

Understanding the importance of both education and potable water for all, Rep. Halims has successfully provided scientific equipment to over twenty Senior Secondary Schools, facilitated not lesser than five classroom blocks at different schools as well as over twenty five solar powered boreholes across Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency.

In addition to these, the outspoken Lawmaker whose selling point at the National Assembly is the quality of his bills and motions of National importance has also trained not lesser than ten thousand women and youths in different entrepreneurship programs with start up kits and financial grants. He has to his credit also, an asphalt overlaying of about 5km road in Ojede while about to commence another 15km asphalt overlaying on some select roads in Ankpa Local Government Area. His name shall be indelible in the hearts of many families He used his good office to facilitate pensionable employment for their sons and daughters.

Also worthy of note is his efforts towards a stable power supply and improved agricultural output as evident in his collaboration with the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) and National Agricultural Land Development Agency (NALDA) to establish a power substation and farm settlement centres at Anyigba and Ankpa LGA respectively.

It is said that one good turn deserves another. Having done this excellently well in less than four years which makes a single term, the performance index of Hon. Halims clearly leaves the people of his area with no alternative than to massively reelect him to continue his good works come February 25th 2023. Of course, Ankpa Federal Constituency deserves a place of Pride in the committee of Federal Constituencies in Nigeria and the fastest way towards achieving this is the embracement of Hon. Halims as the common denominator. Let’s all queue behind him to make this happen.
