The Akinrin of Ekinrinland, His Royal Majesty Oba Johnson Kolade Otitoju (Egbo L’ona I), has marked the third anniversary of his coronation with a message of gratitude to his subjects and a renewed call for unity, loyalty, and cooperation in the fight against insecurity.

The message, contained in a personally signed royal dispatch released today, followed what the palace described as the monumental success of the Akinrin Day 2026 and Ekinrin-Adde Day 2026 celebrations. In it, the First-Class Monarch thanked all sons, daughters, and stakeholders of Ekinrinland who partnered with the throne to ensure the success of the recent cultural festivals and the continued progress of the land.

Reflecting on his three years on the throne of his ancestors, Oba Otitoju likened his royal mandate to that of the biblical King Solomon, saying his overriding prayer was for divine wisdom to guide his leadership of the Ekinrin-Adde people.

“My people, thank you all. All I ask of God is the wisdom to lead you aright, like my mentor King Solomon asked of God. And of you, I ask for absolute loyalty, and your total commitment to peace, unity, progress, and cooperation to make the Ekinrin-Adde project work,” the monarch said.

The Akinrin used the occasion to reaffirm the Ekinrin-Adde Traditional Council’s dedication to the physical and economic growth of the land. He assured residents that the council would not relent in its efforts to attract more infrastructural facilities and developmental projects to Ekinrin-Adde.

On the safety of lives and property, the monarch commended the Kogi State Government for its proactive and continuous efforts to strengthen security across the state. He then issued a clarion call to residents, community leaders, and local security networks to give their total and uncompromised cooperation in the fight against criminality, stressing that routing out criminal elements requires a joint, vigilant effort between government and community.

Concluding his address, the monarch celebrated the milestones of his three-year reign and congratulated his people on the successes of the recent festivals.

“Thank you, my sons and daughters, for believing in me and partnering with me to make our land recognized and great. Congratulations on the huge successes recorded at Akinrin Day 2026 and Ekinrin-Adde Day 2026. A ku orire o… on Anniversary. One, two, three years. Thank you and remain ever blessed,” he said.

He closed with blessings for Ekinrin-Adde and Kogi State.
