According to Aristotle, “honour is a reward for excellence and it is reserved for the good” and true to this words, the Sole Administrator of Ajaokuta Steel Company, Engr Sumaila Abdul Akaba, on behalf of management and staff of the company, presented an award plaque to the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Steel Development, Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims of Ankpa Federal Constituency.
Ajaokuta Steel Company is no doubt Nigeria’s biggest asset and if resuscitated, will take the country to echelon among the committee of world economy and it is for this reason that Hon Halims has remained passionate about it.
However, while he has been “doing his thing” to see that it comes to fruition, the management of the Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited have been observing him from the close and out of their satisfaction and deliberate intent to encourage him presented the award plaque to him uninformed.
It is important to note too, that the award which is customized with his name is a fabrication made by one of the plants(unit) of the Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited.
While congratulating the ‘Super Chair’, as fondly called by the Rt Hon Speaker, I promise to roll out some of his salient efforts been made towards the Ajaokuta Steel Company revival in the coming days.
