Senator representing Kogi East, Atai Aidoko Ali has assured communities ravaged by natural disasters of intervention as his office collaborates with NEMA and Ecological office to carry out environmental assessment studies.
According to a statement from his media office, Aidoko said the assessment study will start from Ibaji where environmental issues like flood have been rampant. He assured that the project will be extended to other parts of Kogi East.
Aidoko, who is the Chairman Senate committee on SDGs, expressed deep worries on the critical ecological problems occasioned by flood, erosion and other natural occurrences which has affected the development of the area. He noted that the worrisome situation requires urgent attention.
He said the ecological office will deploy both physical and material resources available at their disposal in this year’s budget to ensure all necessary solutions are adopted to ensure the ecological concerns in Kogi East are addressed once and for all.
