Adavi LG Chairman Urge Aku-Farm Centre Community to Form Vigilante Group, Check Migrants

The Executive Chairman of Adavi Local Government of Kogi State, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami has tasked Aku-Farm Centre community to set up a vigilante group.

He also charged them on proper scrutiny for any migrant they are going to accommodate in the community and ensure they follow the due process by informing the local government authority or Osara Police division for proper documentation.

The council chairman made this known when he met with the farmers in Aku/Farm Centre community to harmonize them to live in oneness and constitute community leaders that will work closely with the ward head for the betterment of the community and ensure unity among residents.

The harmonization meeting that lasted for over three hours on Saturday had in attendance the DPO and men of Osara Police Division, cabinet members to the council, elders, and the entire youths of the community.

The council boss who is known for fair hearing, justice and truth listened to everyone as they vent out their minds, and while addressing the issue which has lasted for over years and caused setback to the community, instructed the residents to constitute and inaugurate their community leaders before the end of next week, choose an elderly person among them as the father to the entire community, whenever case arises they should report to nearby police station or appropriate quarters.

He appointed three men committee to work closely with the ward head.

“I want to charge the ward head to unite everyone together without any form of sentiment, and warn that no single individual has power over the community as a whole. Therefore, it is expected of everyone to respect the authority and community at large.

“The essence of forming community leaders in every society is to support the society and strengthen the peace of that society, we shall adopt the same system here as we have done to other communities in Adavi. We have to respect the leadership of our community for the sake of peace, unity, and development of the community. It’s necessary to stage-manage one another and live together as one”, the council boss said.
