The much anticipated governorship primaries of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) will hold today at the Lokoja Township Stadium.
Frontline aspirant on the platform of ACN, Prince Abubakar Audu, breezed into Lokoja around 3pm to the warm embrace of his teeming supporters who troop out enmass to welcome him at Jamata. Other aspirants of the party came in quietly.
Information available to KogiReports.Com confirmed that Audu has been endorsed by the party at the national level. The decision did not come easy as it took the national leaders of ACN two days to negotiations and plea to get other aspirants to shift ground.
The most difficult of the aspirants was the former Accontant-General of the state, Ubolo Okpanachi, who threatened to return to his former party, PDP, if ACN deny him the party ticket. The party handled him with tact and diplomacy though they all know he was planted in the party the incumbent PDP governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.
With the Abuja agreement all is set to endorse Audu as the party’s flagbearer in the forthcoming governorship elections. The primaries is expected to be a mere formality as is known with ACN nationwide.
