A Man I Will Always Respect

Around year 2011 following the rigmarole, court cases and counter court cases that brought Captain Wada. It was at the height of crises in Kogi central. I was in secondary school around 2005-2008 when I returned from Abuja to finished my secondary education in Okene.

I witnessed first hand the height of intra-ethnic crises, how houses were raised down, people were killed, homes were deserted. After living Abuja/Kaduna to stay at home, I was so happy because I have never had opportunity to go back to my root but this joy was not sweet because of I have to relocate to different places, sometimes to the farm just because of continued crises, an uneding one at that.

What baffled me was how all our potentials personalities were dying year one year: I witnessed how Late Senator A T Ahmed died mysteriously, how John Lawal, Obatemi, Nana Ojeba and name it ;all gone.

In 2011, I was talking to a friend that can Ebira ever rule kogi state amidst crises, deaths etc. He told me we have one person left : I ask him who : he said fairplus. I said I know fairplus, I have seen his transport company in Abuja, Edo State. He said he hope after 2011 i.e 2015 he hope Alhaji Yahaya Bello should come forward and look for Governor. I was nervous because he could die as the trend kept going.

I told my Friend that Alhaji Yahaya Bello is our last hope, if we loose in 2015 forget it. From 2015 the rest is history. Not only been the first Governor from kogi central, regardless of how he did it; kogi central is today the most secured senatorial district in Nigeria. He went further to keep the seat of Governor with us. This is enough because I believe issue of unemployment, water and the likes will be achieved in a short time.

God bless you sir, you are a man I will continue to be grateful to. I have my bragging right through you. May God bless you greatly. If you say there is no achievement in his 8 years: today we have peace in Ebiraland, school of Nursing which was to be taken to other senatorial district is not happening again, we have Ohi of Ajaokuta, we have teaching hospital, we have a university, we have the big one: A Governor. Alhaji Yahaya Bello avo Pataki.
