Oh God of heaven, please look down on our land and show us mercy. We need the kind of succor that only you can give. We need you to rewrite the story of our dear land and give us a new name. We need a new dawn in kogi State. Redeem us from the menace of bad leadership and put a new song in our mouth to sing.

We know you’re seeing how the last three years in Kogi State has been the worst times ever for her people. From incessant killings by herdsmen to non payment of salaries.

Is it even the endless screening exercise that has brought nothing but frustration on her workers?

Should we even talk about the countless number of her people that had lost their lives and still loosing their lives as a result of the frustration from non payment of salaries?

Or, is it even the poverty and hunger that has ravaged the land and in a bid to make ends meet and put food on the table, people have resorted to so many acts that are naturally uncalled for ranging from rituals, prostitution, stealing and even sycophancy (the list is endless).

Our streets are littered here and there with youths and adults alike lazying about as a result of unemployment and non payment of salaries which has resulted to crime and all forms of immoral associations among others.

Parents and guardian’s alike have had to bear the pain of seeing their children out of school as a result of their inability to meet up with school fees demands.

In most households, having the normal three square meals have become practically impossible as feeding from hand to mouth have become the order of the day.

Our hospitals are filled up with cases of patients being detained and messed up as they are unable to meet up with bills.

Family bread winners are being tagged and seen as useless as they are being incapacitated from meeting up with their responsibilities.

Dear Lord, enough is enough to all these. Enough is enough to these wickedness and hunger that has taken over our dear land like a flood.

Enough is enough to all these frustrations and calamities we’ve had to endure as a people.

Dear Lord, we want you to raise up and fight our battles. We want to have cause to smile again. We want to see food back on our tables again. We want to see our children back to school again. We don’t want to see our streets littered with youths lazying about as a result of unemployment again. We want to live in peace as we’ve once lived again. We want you to raise up and raise your standard against the wicked and every alter that have exalted themselves above your will in our land.

We need your succor dear Lord, please give us the kind of succor that only you can give.
