Dr. Oseni Mourns World’s Oldest Monarch, Obobanyi of Ohionwa

Kogi Central Senator-elect, Dr. Yakubu Oseni has described the demise of Obobanyi of Ohionwa, Pa Jeremiah Akavah as a huge loss to Ebira land, Kogi State and the country in general.

Dr. Oseni who described the late monarch as a man with burning desire for peaceful society, said though he died at a ripe age of 115, his invaluable contributions to community development would be missed greatly.

“The monarch’s efforts at peace building in Ihima was second to none. He had championed promotion of peaceful coexistence through his utterances and deeds while he was alive. Indeed, we have lost one of the sincere monarchs of our time”, he lamented.

He prayed that God in His infinite mercy would grant Ohionwa clan, the people of Ihima and Kogi State in general the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of the monarch.

PA Jeremiah Akaavah who was born in 1903 was reported to be the world’s oldest monarch and has spent 36 years on the ancestral throne of his forefathers in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area.
