Member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon. Salman Idris, has commended Okun APC stakeholders for their proactive initiative in tackling insecurity in the region.

Despite being absent from the stakeholders meeting due to a national assignment outside Nigeria, Hon. Idris sent a solidarity message, assuring the group of his maximum support for their efforts.

The stakeholders meeting, convened by State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), brought together prominent government officials, including commissioners, members of the State House of Assembly, LGA Chairmen, and retired military personnel. The meeting resulted in the establishment of four key committees to combat insecurity in Okunland.

These committees will provide strategic guidance, define the security framework, manage resources, and handle information dissemination. Specifically, the committees will work together to enhance security and promote peace in Okunland, fostering a more stable and prosperous environment.

Hon. Idris commendation reflects his commitment to the security and well-being of his constituents. As a people-centric leader, he has consistently demonstrated dedication to addressing the needs of the Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency. The stakeholders initiative and Hon. Idris support are expected to significantly enhance security in the region.

This development comes as no surprise, given Hon. Idris previous efforts to tackle security challenges in his constituency. In May, he empowered 100 youth and women with skills and resources to contribute to the overall security of the constituency. The training program focused on conflict resolution, community policing and self-defense techniques, demonstrating Hon. Idris commitment to empowering his constituents.

By working together, the community can overcome the challenges posed by insecurity and foster a more stable and prosperous environment. The establishment of these committees is expected to bring about a new era of security and stability in the region.
