Audu Expresses Shock Over Former Deputy Governor Patrick Adaba’s Death

The Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shaiubu Abubakar Audu has expressed deep shock over the demise of former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Patrick Adaba.

The former Deputy Governor died following a protracted illness at 79 years.

In a statement, Prince Audu said that “Honouring chief Patrick Adaba, as a cherished friend and ally of the Audu political family for his service to kogi state.
I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Chief Patrick Adaba who passed away at the age of 79 on Sunday, March 9, 2025 in Abuja, after a protracted illness”.

Eulogising the deceased, he described him as “An illustrious son of kogi state whose career was dedicated to the service of the state when he served as deputy governor to my late father Prince Abubakar Audu from May 29 1999 to May 29 2003.

“Although constricted with grief at this time I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of the late chief Patrick Adaba who left us at a difficult time as we continue to put them in our prayers.

“Gone but not forgotten, we will continue to remember the late Mr Patrick Adaba for being more than just a deputy governor to Prince Abubakar Audu but an ally who was instrumental to the remarkable development that transformed our state during their tenure. His vision, dedication and support not only contributed to the development of our dear state and but to our nation at large, he will be sorely missed”, he said.
