President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed a former governorship aspirant in Kogi state, Engr. Olushola George Olumoroti as Managing Director of Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, Ilorin, Kwara State.
In a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, the President also appointed a former member, Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Abidemi Adeyemi as Executive Director (Finance) in the River Basin Development Authority.
According to the statement, the appointments stemmed from President Tinubu’s approval for the reconstitution of the Executive Management of 12 River Basin Development Authorities under the Federal Ministry of Water Resources.
In the newly reconstituted management, Alhaji Abdullateef Alakawa from Kwara state was named Chairman of the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority based in Ilorin.
Other management members the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, Ilorin, are: Engr. Babajamu Adeniran, Executive Director, Engineering (Kwara); Hon. Abdullahi Sadiq – Executive Director, Agric Services (Kogi) and Engr. Alanamu Ayinla Abolere – Executive Director, Planning and Design (Kwara).
In similar development, a former House of Representatives member, Hon Hassan Omale, was appointed Executive Director, Agric Services for the Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority, Markudi.
President Tinubu expressed optimism that the appointees would use their wealth of experience to bolster the efficiency of the organisations, in line with the administration’s commitment to bettering the lives of citizens.
