Hon. Tade Oshaloto has called on political office holders in Kogi West senatorial district to strive to make a good name for themselves, families and communities.

Speaking at a reunion and celebration event in honor of Hon. Siyaka Yakubu Adabenege (Fancy), the Kogi State Auditor General for Local Governments in Kabba on Friday organised by Kogi West Comradeship Leaders Forum, Oshaloto charged public officers on hunger for legacy.

He stated that no one works for legacy and fail.

“Our people must be encouraged to treasure the glory of tomorrow over the excitement of today,” he added.

Oshaloto, who works as public relations officer at the Kogi State University Kabba, tasked political office holders on quality relationships which he said is a reliable pathway to achieving goals and aspirations.

He also urged them to create platforms for strategic policy communication to enable their constituents understand and key into government policies.

“As a group peopled with leaders of thought with considerable presence in government, it will be my joy to see you help our people to make sense of government policies across the three tiers i.e. the Federal, State and the Local government. We thank God for the commitment of H.E. Gov. Ododo to the functioning of the LGA. There is now a greater responsibility of assisting the 21 ‘’governors’’ of our local governorates to bring quality leadership and development.

“As a group of visionaries, you must help our people to cherish the principles of seed time and harvest time. Many of you here are a product of personal, family, or community sacrifices. You have done things that nobody applauded you for. But God who sees everything has rewarded you today,” he said.

Oshaloto urged the public officers to pursue the virtue of reward for performance rather than reward for sycophancy. This, he said, will help give priority to productivity rather than seeking to cut corners.

The reunion event organised by Kogi West Comradeship Leaders Forum was convened by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youths and Student Matters, Amb. Oladele Nihi and was attended by all seven local chairmen in the senatorial district.
