The joy of farmers in Kabba-Bunu local government knew no bounds when they received 349 bags of 50 kg fertilizers facilitated by Senator Sunday Karimi (APC-Kogi West).
This gesture became imperative considering the climatic change that has grossly affected agricultural output in recent times.
During the very brief but momentous occasion, the All Progressives Congress (APC) 15 ward Chairmen and their representatives each received 20 bags of fertilizers. Traditional rulers and community stakeholders were also beneficiaries of this magnanimity.
The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Kabba-Bunu Branch, ably represented by the Chairman were also on ground to receive the aloted fertilizers to its members.
Kabba-Bunu LG Coordinator to the Senator, Chief Stephen Femi Owoniyi, aka Omoga, was practically on ground to supervise the distribution.
Moments after the exercise, he spoke with newsmen, stressing the importance the fertilizers would have on farm produce.
“I must first of all commend Senator Karimi for making these fertilizers available to our farmers at no cost. We don’t expect the beneficiaries to sell it because we all believe everyone here are all farmers,” he said.
Hon. Femi Omoga thanked Senator Sunday Karimi for his magnanimity and being responsive to his constituents’ yearnings.
Kabba-Bunu LG All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Comrade Solomon Jembawondo eulogized the Senator for being a worthy representative and ambassador of good leadership.
He gave a stern warning to the beneficiaries and ward Chairmen to desist from making imaginary gains from the well thought of gesture of the Distinguished Senator Sunday Karimi.
