Member, Kogi State House of Assembly, Princess Omotayo Adeleye-Ishaya, has assured of her commitment to providing quality representation to the people of Ijumu constituency through empowerment programs and legislation that will have direct bearing on the state and its citizens.

Speaking with newsmen at the 2024 Ekinrin-Adde Day celebration on Saturday, the lawmaker said she has released N500,000 to empower 100 widows in the constituency.

Adeleye-Ishaya said the half a million Naira extended to her constituents was her little way of putting smiles on the faces of widows at a time the country is passing through economic difficulties.

“I lost my beloved husband about four months ago and I now feel what it means to lose the bread winner of the family to the cold hands of death.

“That is why I deemed it for as the representative of the good people of Ijumu Constituency at the State House of Assembly to empower 100 widows with the sum of #500,000. Each widow got #5000 to cushion the effect of the current economic quagmire,” she said.

The empowerment coincided with the celebration of International Women’s Day.
