As Kogi state governorship election tribunal upheld the election of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo as the duly elected governor of Kogi State, member representing Okene II Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Zakari Yusuf (Nescafe) has congratulated the Governor for his well deserved victory at the tribunal noting that, the will of the people has been truly affirmed by the court.
Hon. Zakari described the tribunal judgement as a victory for democracy and advised the opposition candidates to heed to the wise counsels from well meaning people of Kogi state to place the peace and progress of the state above their partisan and primordial interest, accept the court’s verdict in good faith, and join hands with the governor in moving the state forward.
The lawmaker maintained that Gov. Usman Ododo in the last four months has performed beyond expectations in all fronts to the admiration of the people. He said, the Governor’s multifaceted approach on security, improvement in the welfare of the civil servants, timely payment to contractors to accelerate infrastructural development are testament to his unwavering capacity and commitment to deliver good governance to the people of Kogi state, hence, all hands should be on deck to sustain the tempo without further legal distractions.
Hon. Zakari commended the learned Justices for standing by the truth in their unanimous decision which further affirm the will and decisions of majority of Kogites that trooped out in their numbers to vote for Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo in the November 11, governorship election.
