Candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the November 11 governorship election in Kogi state, Hon. Leke Abejide, has celebrated young persons in the state on the 2023 International Youth Day.

Abejide, the Chairman, House Committee on Customs and Excise Duty, in his message to the youth through his media team on Saturday, admonished them to unleashed the potential and power of young people to shape the future of our increasingly interconnected world.

“Today, being International Youth Day, we celebrate the potential and power of young people to shape the future of our increasingly interconnected world,” Abejide said.

The gubernatorial candidate noted that with over half of the global population under 30, the young generation will find solutions to most of the toughest global challenges, particularly in Kogi State as a microcosm of macro society.

He said the Kogi State of “our dream is committed and determined to provide opportunities for our youths by ensuring that they are not only leaders of tomorrow but the Change agents of today.

“And as your Governor, we shall create equal access to qualitative education and build skills to strengthen youth leadership in business and academia, with capital for entrepreneurs and the network required to grow their businesses. We celebrate the youth of Kogi State across the 21 Local Governments on the occasion of today’s International Youth Day. We salute their energetic spirit and their ability to improve the future of humanity.

“We, therefore, use the ample opportunity of today’s international youth day celebration to appeal to all Kogi youths to come out en masse during the forthcoming November 11th Gubernatorial election and vote for ADC.

“For a prosperous Kogi state for all, our ideas are issues-driven, development focused and peoples oriented.”

Abejide, who represents Yagba federal constituency in the House of Representatives, appealed to youths in the state to shun violence, drug abuse and every other social vice capable of destroying them.
