The National Executive Council (NEC) and National Coordinating Council (NCC) of the Oodua People’s Congress have appointed Comrade Olusola Ojo as the new coordinator of the state.
Ojo is the former coordinator of Ekiti State with long years of experiences.
Ojo’s new appointment is in line with the desire of the organization to strengthen the bond after the demise of the former leader and coordinator of the state, the late Nurudeen Asoore ,who died early this year.
Speaking on his new appointment, Comrade Ojo expressed sincere appreciation to the leadership of the organization, saying he would continue to uphold the ideals of the organization.
“As far as I am concerned, this is a call to service and I will do my best by making sure that Kogi state OPC remains the pride of other states in the North Central.
The supervising coordinator of Kogi state, Chief Isiaka Wahab, popularly known as “Igba Irunmole” applauded the move of the National Executive Council, insisting that the new appointment will bring about landmark progress and development in the state.
“I commend the NEC of OPC under the leadership of our amiable father, the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams for keeping the hope alive.
“This is a welcome development and a quick response to the yearnings of the people of Kogi state. I can assure the people of the state that comrade Olusola Ojo would bring to bear his wealth of experiences in driving the state to prosperity
“As the Supervising coordinator of the state, I urge all members of the OPC in Kogi state to rally round and support the new coordinator and the deputy in ensuring that the state retain its pride as one of the most formidable in the North Central Organization.”
